Thank you for all your love and prayers for Linda. She is a special blessing to all of us. Linda and I had some good talks about this long before she was diagnosed with cancer this last time. I think she'd want you to be thinking how blessed she will be to see her Lord face to face, to know an eternity of unbounded love and joy, and the excitement of being able to live in the very presence of her Lord and God. I have no doubt that, although she will not see some of the things she was looking forward to...like being a grandmother, she will take this step without hesitation and with great anticipation.
Elise said to contact Lori Ulmer for updates. Her address is alulm@comcast.net. This will probably be the last blog post.
Thank you, Lord, for the blessing of Linda's life and how she was able to touch our hearts.

Just thought I'd let everyone know how much Linda appreciates your thoughtfulness and prayers. However, between the therapy and visitors, she isn't getting much rest. She asked for a sign to put on her door to let others know when she is needing more rest.

Linda is having physical therapy a couple of times a day at Royal Plaza. She has a huge room and is enjoying the privacy of having it all to herself. Although she tires easily, she is in good spirits and trying to eat well. With all her friends praying for her, she said she wished she could call everyone, but it's just too big a task.

Bernice says....
After coming out of surgery, Linda was up and around Friday and Saturday. Sunday she was having troubles with her heart and was not responsive. However, as of Tuesday, she is doing much better and is alert. Bernice said her condition changed like night and day. The next thought is getting her into rehab as soon as she is able. Keep praying!

Linda fell a couple of days ago. Yesterday Bernice called to say Linda had gone to the hospital and the doctors found she had fractured her hip. This morning, early, they did a hip replacement. Through all these challenges Linda has maintained an amazingly great outlook.
....makes my troubles seem minute.
Thanks for all you prayers, encouragement, and support. They mean a great deal to Linda.

Linda went to the oncologist today and will be taking 2 pills/day for chemo. She goes back next Thursday to see how that's working. Monday is her MRI. Dan is making Linda fruit smoothies and she's loving it! Dan, the cook! She's been outside, up and around, and is working out on the stairs. Sounds like she's getting stronger every day. She's definitely become the marathon girl...maybe Bloomsday?

Per Dan's mom, Bernice, Linda is gaining strength and walking around the house for exercise. Dan is home with her this week. Tomorrow Linda has a doctor appointment. Next week, probably Monday, she will be having another MRI. She's not really for visitors yet, so cards and prayers would be great.

Hospital Update
Right now, Linda is in the hospital, so I'll do a little updating for her.
Last week Linda woke up in the night with a lot of pain. Dan called an ambulence and they got her to the hospital. Tests showed that she had an ulcer and they took her into surgery. Later they found that liquid was collecting from the surgery, so they put a drainage tube in her. Dan thinks they will release her in the next few days. She has been having fevers at night and the doctors want to make sure those have gone away before they'll release her. She is still very weak and not up to visitors, but things are looking much better.
Either one or the other of Linda's sister or sister-in-law (Patsy) will be staying with her when Dan goes back to work. He's been keeping watch over Linda in the hospital almost constantly, staying the night and going home for showers and the mail.
That's all I have to share now. Thanks so much for all your prayers and support. They are greatly appreciated and coveted. This is a tough way to learn patience, but God is so very good. What a blessing Linda is to our lives.
