Last Thursday's chemo went very well, thanks to my good friend Vivian. (Have we really known each other since jr. high, Viv?!). Anyway, she stopped by my home for a surprise visit, not knowing that I was heading out for chemo in 15 minutes. She was good enough to follow us (my dear in-laws were my chauffeurs d'jour) to the clinic where she spent the entire time with me. We had a great visit talking about the past as well as what's going on in our lives right now. This has been a year that has hit hard in many ways, both for us and a good number of our friends and family. It is comforting to know that we are not alone as we travel through these trials. I am overwhelmed with the support we continue to receive--lunch and dinner invitations, visits from out-of-town friends, unexpected food delivered to our door, cards and more cards, your ceaseless prayers--I am speechless.
Thank you,
Linda

Dear Linda, I have been so negligent about contacting you. You would think I would know better. Anyway, today is the first I have looked on your blog. As I read your entry from July 24 and your reference to Ps.16:8 I was reminded of a poster that was on the ceiling of the radiation room I was in (what a great place since it couldn't be missed and it was assurance to me that the radiologists were on the page as me) It was a poster of the mountains with Is.54:10 "Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken..." It has sort of been my mantra ever since. How lucky are we!
ReplyDeleteI have not talked to Jackie lately but the last time we were together she told me of Elise's engagement. How exciting!!! We are so happy for you and her. What a great event to look forward to. I would love to visit with you. Maybe a day that you are getting together with Jackie?
Please know that although I have not made contact with you my prayers are for you always. Diane
