Dear Family & Friends,
As of today I have completed round 1 of my chemotherapy session and I am pleased to say that I continue to weather it well. It lasted about 5 hours which was longer than originally planned. (It had something to do with my IV/blood return....and that's all you need to know about that!) Everything finally went smoothly. Next week is my one week off from chemo and that completes the official 1st round.
I thank God, good meds, good food (from many of you!), and plenty of rest as I know this has all contributed to my well being. When I am out of sorts, I just go to bed early, usually when it's still light! With the right combination of medicine, I can usually get a good night's sleep. I read several Psalms every night with pen in hand, and underline everything that's on my heart. What a wonderful sleep aid!
My doctor met with me today and let me know that we would complete 3 rounds of chemo before scanning again. That will most likely put the scan in July. In the meantime, I'm trying to be a good patient by exercising, eating good things (which I actually crave), adding piano students slowly to my week, and connecting with so many people in my different worlds. You all keep me going, you know!!

My Dearest Linda,
ReplyDeleteCongradulations! I hope your week off of Chemo is a good break before round 2 begins. I am so very proud of you for enduring all of this and I can't wait to see and squeeze hug you again soon! I pray for you each day and think of you often especially when teaching my students. I'm sure I'll have lots of my "Linda questions" for you when we presume lessons/mentoring again. You're The Best!
Miss you much,
Jenn
Linda,
ReplyDeleteHello! You look fantastic, my friend. :) I've been keeping up with your progress through Elise, but this will be a wonderful way to hear it in your words, too. :) My prayers are with you and Dan. You can DO it!
Hi Linda,
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you are looking forward to a week of fewer hours spent in treatment. You are an amazing woman, dear friend!
I was in the doctor's office last Friday and found a copy of the Spokane Metro Magazine with Nancy's article. The doctor said I could have it, so I'll bring it by for you to read.
Love you,
Jackie
